Not only for humans. Apparently, Nematodes display survivalist and chemical
intent in that like-connectors automatically search for and bond chemically
to develop increasingly complex networks up to the saturation of the
limited expression of its biology. Similar behaviour is noted for neurons.

I've read how trees may develop a subterranean communication network of the
individual and collective states of a "forest".

These relate to inherent, reactive connectedness.

I agree that plants emit and receive informational signals, but it may not
be aware of its own existence, signaling and messaging.

Therefore, the degree of broadest-sense qualia generation does not prove an
awareness of qualia, as cognitive experience.

The most-basic metric should be evidential awareness of qualia on a
complexity scale of awareness, not reactive or resonant-based "awareness"
alone (as a-priori states), even with a degree of reactiveness intact.

Let's rephrase accordingly: in nature, which objects exhibit state
responsiveness to internal changes, and to external stimuli?

Let's agree that all objects do at some level.

Next, which of these objects generate additional systemic experiential
information (as qualia) vs acute state changes?

Last, which qualia-generating systems provide evidence of the pro-active
and deliberate contextualization of qualia as factors of system management
and intentional adaptation, and exercise a degree of Go/NoGo gatekeeping
over indicated adaptation trigger states?

Can automatic response triggers to systemic qualia be deliberately overuled?
