The Northwest AI Forum (NaiF) was operative in the early 1990's. They used to hold meetings at the top of the Columbia Seafirst Center, where the height was dizzying. Around 1994, the NaiF had an AI show at a club in downtown Seattle. I demonstrated MindRexx there on a Commodore Amiga. The son of the Nobelist Francis Crick walked by and sniffed his contempt for my AI efforts, so I told him that, if and when AI succeeds, it will be a bigger achievement than "what your father achieved" (co-discovering the DNA double helix with Watson and Madeleine what's-her-name). I still miss the NaiF. > There are so few people around who really are interested in > general AI.
