Civilization has progressed through the work of billions of people. To accelerate this, you need equivalent collective intelligence. My claim is this will cost around $1 quadrillion. It is not enough to make one human-level AI (which is not that expensive) and make billions of copies. Once the software is solved and hardware is cheap, then most of the expense will be the time it takes billions of people to tell AI what they want and make sure they are getting it. Otherwise you have something that is either useless or dangerous. -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-c97d2393 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-2484a968 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
