Obviously amount of information accumulated is always increases as you move through time. Perhaps Ben meant "chaos" which is different. Anyways as any skilled meditator can tell you, joy comes from awareness and appreciation of the present. > what is there left to learn or to unite with? There were lots of times in the history of this planet, where there was one predominant species here, however it has after various forms of calamities, always been succeeded by new forms of life. on land, there were fungi, plants, lizard, dinosaurs, birds, now mammals.. we still have vestiges of all those that inhabited here at some point. Except maybe dinosaurs, but that was some serious genocide. Humans have been killing "Dragons" since they got here. of course such an agent would not need to actually feel bored but existing > just for the sake of it seems not very satisfactory to me. Have you ever done enough meditation to achieve inner peace, and then looked at the world with appreciative awareness? Is there anything more blissful than the sound of the waves, or the wind blowing a little sand or snow in the mountains? Truly, these phenomena, are worth living for, in and of themselves. it could help out other civilizations in its cone of light or answer their > arecibo message with "enjoy your barbaric life, being superintelligent > sucks" and shut itself down afterwards. fermi's paradox solved! > > -- just another camel > > Though of course to have something to do there are plans. There are so many games that can be played. Such as seeding the galaxy with your likeness. Any sufficiently intelligent organism, realizes that life in a particular body is finite, and so new bodies must be produced, in order to continue to experience the joy of living, with similar fidelity. So while reproductive growth is really the goal of any life form, it can manifest in an infinitely varied amount of ways. Yes, I know with the whole "dumbing down of America" and various "propoganda" reproduction and "breeders" are a no-no, thats mostly for the lower-intelligent beings to take heed which eat the gmo foods and take the slow-kill vaccines and gobble mass media, as it allows for the smart people to have more room for their healthy organic home-schooled children. See western living is quite the game! How different from hunting and gathering, city-states and dark age castles. Anyways point being, there will be plenty of stuff to do. Can always talk about electrolyte, just like we talk about food. > ------------------------------**------------- > AGI > Archives: > https://www.listbox.com/**member/archive/303/=now<https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now> > RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/**member/archive/rss/303/** > 5037279-6ef01b0b<https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/5037279-6ef01b0b> > Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/** > member/?&id_**secret=5037279-3358f9ad<https://www.listbox.com/member/?&> > Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com > ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-c97d2393 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-2484a968 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
