Having said all that, a test where a machine can take the place of your useful pet, your guide dog, your guard dog etc, would be quite a broad intelligence test already. So, need not limit ourselves to the highly opaque history of the human species. PS For what it's worth some recent analysis I've seen settled the issue of human diet to my satisfaction: humans eat cooked food, of whatever definition. Of course one of the best reasons to cook is to deal with (rotting) meats, and also to use starches. Neither strategy is enormously desirable in the garden of Eden, but venture a bit further out from the ideal human habitat and it becomes an advantage to cook and eat everything.
