This statement is categorically wrong. Both the "Standard Model & General
Relativity" are Physics theories that are shown using Math notation. This
statement would imply that Physics doesn't exist which is just not true.
Would you call these theories "English" theories if they could be described
in English?
But both of these theories are math theories, arbitrarily closely
approximable via computer programs... (though to simulate the whole universe
via a computer would require a very large computer program on a very large
computer)
I have programmed 100's of thousands of lines of code and I have seen some
of the equations that describe the above 2 Physics theories and I see no
similarities. Each programming language has a syntax and a set of rules
that govern how that language needs to be translated into the machine code
of a CPU. This is not Math.
Talking about simulating the Universe has no place in the real world of
computer programming. You almost sound like 'Mike'!
I have posted a number of posts over the past 2 weeks and if your opinion
differs then please spend a few minutes and show me where my arguments are
wrong. Please don't just tell a different story as we will obviously just
end up talking past each other.
I have spent 37 years programming computers. I am insulted when people say
what I do is Math when I took Math at University and it has had almost
nothing to do with what I do.
Put forward your rebuttals and arguments or continue to keep silent on this
issue.
