The infant is dealing with a *creative* problem - how the hell did that toy suddenly reappear, when it was supposed to have disappeared? Toys/objects can do that after disappearing behind other objects.... He has to realise that toys/objects can remain stationary when disappearing from view - can be obscured - don't necessarily go anywhere. He is making a creative discovery - and that's why he's delighted. Yes his new idea works... but he can't be sure... let's see it again. And again.

No call in your approach for any emotions at all. It's no different from mathematical calculations, is it?
