Hi Anastasios, Of course independent AGI-ers are reluctant to join forces. The way Google has gotten so many AI folks to join forces is via paying them .... And even in that case, the forces are not that tightly joined -- Google has many internal teams working fairly separately, though using a common set of internal Google resources ...
However, once some independent AGI project gets some kick-ass proto-AGI demonstrations --- maybe OpenCog, maybe AnastasiosMind, whatever -- then I think you'll find a lot more independent, iconoclastic AGI zealots ready to join forces with that project.
