If I understand their approach correctly, the leaf nodes are "atoms",
that are just "labels", each label is represented by a certain vector,
which is the same as a neural activation pattern.

So every tree node is either an atom or a bunch of siblings summed
together.  The product achieves the binding of parents to children.
