The more these organisations are funded, the harder it
will be for others to displace them from their niche.
The FHI it is possible to put up with, but I am less tolerant
of MIRI. Basically, I think that a lot of other possible
organisations could have done a much better job than
they have done with the Thiel millions. Screaming to
everyone to help them save the world does not look
like an especially positive contribution to me.
