This is great! Certainly we need to iron out several things to get this organization going.
First and for most, in order to get people motivated to join and contribute we will require an objective which we believe in, and that others will be intrinsically motivated to pursue, since people are far more productive when they are intrinsically motivated. Perhaps we could coauthor a paper in which we survey the field of AGI discussing the pros and cons of the various approaches and expound upon how a hybrid approach can exploit the pros and overcome the cons of these approaches? If we could make clear the plausibility (and the novelty) of such a system then it would be fairly exciting to me and I would be happy to drive this project forward, and I believe others would be interested in joining (and perhaps even funding) our organization. But we really need to make a convincing case though because I'll do my best to punch wholes in any ideas that aren't sound, and also because an organization founded on an unsound foundation is destined to crumble.
