Not so simple: The human brain has evolved a special "agent modeling circuit" that exists in the frontal lobe. (probably having a counterpart in the parietal lobe. Your "empathy training" only works because there exists a circuit tuned for learning it. The extent to which this circuit needs to be duplicated in an AI depends on the AI's architecture.
