What about the AGIs that people are building or working towards, such as those from Novamente, AdaptiveAI, Hall, etc.? Do/Will your systems have "sleep periods" for internal maintenance and improvement? If so, what types of activities do they perform during sleep?
Novamente doesn't need to sleep.... In general, if a part of the system needs improvement, it can copy that part of itself and keep one copy operational while experimenting on the other copy ... no "downtime" is needed... ben
