And.. by now you should get the idea.

And the all-important thing here is that if you want to TEST or question the above sentence, the only way to do it successfully is to go back and look at the reality. If you wanted to argue, "well look at China, they're rocketing with unbridled capitalism but v. little democracy, so maybe the two don't go together"... the only way to carry that argument through is to go and LOOK at China.

I guess I just don't quite follow what you are saying (though I do
wish you wouldn't be so insulting while saying it). I guess what
you are saying is:

Human beings learn most of what they know from experience.
Most experience comes through senses such as sight. Therefore
systems that do not work in the same way cannot have knowledge
like human beings do, which means they cannot be intelligent
in any meaningful sense.

I have never seen China. I don't believe the television images I
have seen of China (the great wall, Tienenmen square, the
occasional smiling politician) have told me much about china.

I have, however, read and heard a great deal of language about
China.

I'm not disagreeing that starting with real sensory data is probably
the best approach to building AGI, but I don't see a strong
argument that every other approach is wrong.
