Yes, but what do you program? I've been programming for 24 years and I use math all the time. Recently I've been working with Marcus Hutter on a new learning algorithm based on a rather nasty mathematical derivation. The results kick butt. Another tricky derivation that Hutter did a few years back is now producing good results in processing gene expression data for cancer research. I could list many more... Anyway, my point is, whether you need math in your programing or not all depends on what it is that you are trying to program.
