If I had 100 of the highest specification PCs on my desktop today (and it would be a big desk!) linked via a high speed network this wouldn't help me all that much. Provided that I had the right knowledge I think I could produce a proof of concept type AGI on a single PC today, even if it ran like a tortoise. It's the knowledge which is mainly lacking I think.
Although I do a lot of stuff with computer vision I find myself not being all that restricted by computational limitations. This certainly wasn't the case a few years ago. Generally even the lowest end hardware these days has enough compute power to do some pretty sophisticated stuff, especially if you include the GPU. ----- This list is sponsored by AGIRI: http://www.agiri.org/email To unsubscribe or change your options, please go to: http://v2.listbox.com/member/?member_id=8660244&id_secret=73586802-476a69
