Michael, very glad you dig it!!! <smile> and glad it worked...
Hopefully we'll be seeing ya on the multiplayer DM servers soon!...
If you type:
connect tbrn.net
in the console and press enter, you'll be able to connect to a real time
multiplayer server with humans and / or bots on it...
If you decide to jump on, make sure your player name is different from
the basic 'player' and read the section I've included in the JQ 4.1 docs on
observing....
Have a blast! no pun intended! lol!
Catch ya on the flip, and enjoy!!!
Smiles,
CQ :)

Hi Cara,
Fantastic! It worked like a charm. I went back and renamed the
jediquake4 file with a .qmod extension, and sure enough, it did the
trick. Now I'm running around with my trusty blaster and shooting
anything that moves! I'll look at downloading version 4.1 tomorrow when I
get a chance. This is really some nice work you've done Cara. Thanks for
the assist.

Subject: [AGRIP-discuss] Re: Installing JediQuake
Michael, you downloaded the correct file if you'd like
to install Jedi Quake 4. However, the newest version is 4.1.
That's up to you of course. <smile>
The file you're actually opening here, is an ini file located inside
the zip file and not the .qmod file.
The zip file shouldn't be a zip file at all, but have the .qmod extension
instead. However, Microsoft in it's infinite insistence on trying to
make an OS which is incessantly and annoyingly trying to always be doing
something and thinking for itself rather than just doing what it is a
user might actually want, <smile> is just going ahead and assuming
rather rudely, that you really want that file as a zip archive... <smile>
There are a couple of things you can try here...
the first is to simply rename the zip file to change its extension to
.qmod and again try clicking on it...
If that doesn't work, the second thing you can try is this; delete
what you have, and download the file again, but this time, in the save
as dialogue, select the option to save the file as all files, and make
sure the file name hasn't been changed to a zip file. In other words,
you want Windows to preserve the .qmod extension.
Then when you download and press enter on this file, it should run and
install as planned...
Now, since you said this was your first time installing one of these
files, I just want to make sure that you understand that you first need
to have Audio Quake itself installed. This is simply a mod for the game,
which does already need to be on your system.
Please forgive me if that's old news, but ya just never know! lol!
<smile>
Anyway, I hope this helps and please get back with me and let me know how
it goes when you can, K?...
Have a wonderful evening and enjoy the mods!!!...
Smiles,
Cara :)

Hi,
Yes, this is the first time I've installed a mod file. Initially, I was
looking for a setup file or some application file. I read the
documentation that came with the zip file, but I wasn't able to find
anything about installation so I did a Google search and found
directions saying to click on the .qmod file. I only found one file
that says qmod and when I click on it, it opens in notepad. The
following is what appears in notepad:
[general]
name=JediQuake
shortdesc=Episode 4 - A New Mod...
version=4
gamedir=jediquake4
watch_config=yes
watch_autoexec=yes
[longdesc]
00=The Definitive Edition of Jedi Quake,
01=this is its final official release
02=which includes many new features, with the usual Star Wars flair.
03=Please see the documentation in the JediQuake 4 folder,
04=for a complete description...
I can see it's just a run of the mill configuration file. I have to
admit, I couldn't understand how running this particular file would
install all the appropriate files. The zip file I downloaded was
JediQuake4. Is there perhaps a different file I was supposed to
download? Thanks for the help!

ah, one more question; has this happened to you before? Is this the
first time you've installed this type of file?, or have you done it before?...
Talk with you soon...

Hi All,
I'm having problems installing the JediQuake mod. I read that all I
had to do was run the .qmod file and the necessary files would get
moved to the appropriate audio quake folders. However, whenever I run
that file, it opens in notepad. I'm not really sure what to do
here. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Michael
