This is just a quickie to let you know that, finally, 0.3.0rc1 has been prepared and is in internal testing. If it works, I will make it public for all of you.
The biggest change (and it is a biggie) is that MAUTH is now enabled by default, so you can all register a player name at agrip.org.uk and will need to have done so to connect to a server. This ensures that people cannot use your name and will hopefully cut down on general abuse. I intend to monitor the stats tracking (so we will need as much data generated for the stats system as possible when we publicly release RC1) to make sure it's working, fix any bugs and then, before the final 0.3.0 release, will clear it so we can start from a clean and fair slate. If there is demand, I will keep the already-collected but probably not totally fair stats for historical reasons. This release comes about 2 years after originally intended and it is great to see it finally nearing completion. It is the intention of Sebby and Myself to take a back seat on development after this and I've worked very hard to improve the documentation to the point where this should be possible. There is a little more to do but we will do that during the final RC and stats system testing process. Thanks for your continued patience and support. Matthew -- M.
