Hi Raman, I will take your advice and post on akka-dev once I have something presentable. I'll have to think about the benefits - other than it's cool stuff to play with....
In a nutshell I would expect it to be easier to handle Services coming and going on the OSGI container with an Actorbased programming model. Also bundles that have dependencies on those services could be much better reasoned about if they were using Actor states depending on whether the services they rely on are active or not.
