+1 to everything said so far on this thread.

Ultimately, it would be nice to have a single system with a single DTD.  If
getting there requires a few more proposals or can be helped by incremental
changes to either Alexandria or Gump, then I'm all for it.

If it is a radical departure, a new name is called for.
