I'd almost be tempted to join in here on a 3-way race. Michael Liu
opines:
"As the ummmm... "proud owner" or an Alfa Spider hanger queen, I can
sympathize. Want to start a race to see who gets back on the road first?
Hmmm... On second thought, you'll probably win hands down. :("
My 76 has been manning the hangar in drag for 3+ years. She needs to
get on the road soon.
Tess,
I will have to agree with others, the battery is likely toast.
Also, get all the gas out. With a Bosch Spider, you might consider
walking the wild side and letting the car do the draining for you,
though...
With a length of hose attached to the return end of the fuel rail and
a new, charged battery, you should be able to make the fuel pump pump
out the tank contents by turning on the ignition and gently opening
the air intake flapper door (upstream from the air cleaner.)
Just stop immediately when the fuel ceases to flow! The pump can be
harmed when run while dry.
