So GM managed to borrow the most complained-about maintenance items 
from both Porsche 928 and Alfetta worlds?  Why am I not surprised?

For what it's worth, the C5 and C6 Corvette has a rigid torque tube with
an aluminum driveshaft inside, but they still use rubber donuts.
