About the Sider Ignition lock problem. I've had similar problems with my '82 Spider, that is the ignition seems to turn the car on but the starter will not operate. I've been able to restore the starter by unplugging all of the wire connectors coming out of the switch, they can be reached on the steering column, and cleaning all of them with contact cleaner. After plugging them back in, the starter has worked. I've done this two or three times over the years. Good luck!
