My 85 GTV-6 has a spindle that is not drilled to accept a cotter pin
lock for a castellated nut.
While admitting I don't know everything about every Alfa, allow me to
note that an undrilled spindle seems unlikely. I have never seen one. I
*have* seen spindles where the cross drilled hole is so full of broken
cotter pin & old hardened grease it appears there is no hole. Only with
a thorough cleaning and close examination could I locate where the hole
might be. A bit of probing & excavation was needed to clear the hole.
