Battery first - maybe an internal short. Ground wire loose. ignition switch. In a message dated 6/17/2012 12:51:26 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
Fellow Alfisti: The Alfa in question is an 87 Spyder Quad. A few times over the past 3 or 4 weeks, while motoring on down the road, it has, shall I say, "hiccupped"? - engine quit for a beat then immediately restarted. All the idiot lights would be on for a few seconds, just as if it were started from completely off. Kinda hard to troubleshoot when later all runs ok. But while driving this morning, it quit. Engine just stopped. I was able to coast to a spot in a parking lot (fortunately, I was only a half-mile from home). Turned key off then on - nothing at all - no idiot lights, no starter. Headlights work, so there are electrons somewhere, but the electric windows do not work. Any thoughts as to what to check? Some relay? Which one, where is it?
