also, this interface mentions that it works with iPad, but doesn't mention iPhone at all. does it actually work with the iPhone?

If you like how the Zoom H5 and H6 sound with external mikes then you'd be good with this. Sure does make a mike for the lightning port but it's not stereo. Or at least the 1 I've heard ain't.
