So I removed it and did another reinstall. Then when it tried to come up, it stopped and said it had been run in a nonrecommended compatibility mode and that I should go to its properties and make sure the compatibility mode was unchecked. Still, after that, it would not get past the warning about compatibility mode. I removed it and will now try another reinstall. This winamp is a real pain--at least, on this machine.
