------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Nov 1 01:32:47 +0000 2007 ------- All modules of OpenOffice.org fail to open. Had been working fine - actually happened briefly about 2 weeks ago but became fine again applying an available update. Now the no-start has begun again, with no particular action on my part. It just begins and evaporates at that initial screen. KDE is the windowing environment for all Linux discussion below. No matter how started (icon or terminal), result is the normal startup screen for 3-6 seconds. The little progress bar doesn't progress. In terminal window I got this message (cut&pasted): ---- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ oowriter2.3 CR Error(DellDim8100:10315): Need to know glStub environment variable ** (process:10298): WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary / abnormal early exit ... ---- OS: PCLinuxOS 2007 latest updates kernel 2.6.22.10.tex1 on i686. OpenOffice.org package is 2.3.0-2pclos2007 Dell Dimension 8100 with 384 MB RAM. Machine is multiboot: OOo runs fine on Kubuntu 7.10 and Windows XP Pro. Another machine (HP Pavilionzv5000 with 2.6.18.8.tex5 kernel and OOo v2.3.0 PCLinuxOS 2007) is doing fine. So is its OOo under Windows XP Home. Apt-get has been used to remove and replace all OOo packages. Same behavior. :( --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
