Udo, two questions come to my mind:
#1 Can you reproduce this issue if you abandon using Gentium (I recall numerous
issues with Gentium)?
#2 What graphics adaptor are you using and what driver (version)?
Additionally I'd expect forcing a manual repaint in Writer with the keyboard
shortcut Ctrl+Shift+R (temporarily) solves the display problem. Can you pls.
