committed a patch that vlc plugin < 1.0 will be rejected (we need that anyway
since crashing with it even if later at insert->objects->plugin should be
avoided).
As for the "at first character" thing: this is a mac specialty actually. Cocoa
initializes the native menus at the first key press (makes sense, could be a
shortcut). That in turn queries the whole menu hierarchy to be populated,
including Insert->Object->Movie and Insert->object->sound. These however get
disabled - among other reasons - when there is no plugin available that could
play move/sound. My question for cd and mba: couldn't we just leave these menu
entries enabled ?
