HDU->HDU reminder: The layout problem is caused by a bug in glyph fallback from
an X11 font ("Nachlieli") to a non-X11 glyph fallback font. Though the system
has a Type1 Nachlieli it only has light and bold versions of it, whereas the X11
version has regular weight. Since the document requests the regular version it
gets the X11 font. The XLFD for it has a 8859_8 encoding. The text contains
characters from the U+0020..U+003F, which get erroneously flagged as not
available in the font. To be continued...
