I couldn't agree more, Anne!
With my Lancashire-Sussex accent (and a mouth full of marbles) I must have
sounded like an alien to the very patient members of the six Chapters who
welcomed me so warmly during my recent NARGS lecture tour of Eastern States and
Newfoundland, but not one person queried my pronunciations or even requested a
repetition or clarification at the end of the presentation. Incredibly kind or
fast asleep?
