Last summer I was one of four master gardeners who conducted a gardening
session at the local library. One of the attendees was a man who told us he
was a New Jersey master gardener, and that he had bought property nearby
and was establishing an herb garden and business. This man literally took
over our presentation. Every time a new point was broached, he had to tell
us at length about his experiences. As I was the last scheduled to speak,
our time had completely been taken up, and I just made a brief mention of
whatever I had been going to say and ended the meeting. We were all very
polite to him, but I'm afraid we were very frustrated. I later attended a
program on herbs he gave in an adjoining town, and he did a very good job.
But we let him conduct his own program.
