Then I dig up the start and pot it up. If you have a stem of it that has already developed some root along it, you can put that in course sand WITHOUT any hormone and it should take off"

At least I believe you introduced "Magdalena Sunshine". Unfortunately I can't tell you what I did to root them other than I used pure pumice. Can't remember the time of year or if I said any magical incantation over the cuttings. I'm pretty sure I rooted them outside or in my greenhouse (depending on the time of year).
