I went to England once in April and it rained every day, but only for a brief time--it didn't interfere with our garden and pub walks at all. And there was sunshine every day except one--and that was in the Lake District, where on another day we found Wordsworth's "host of golden daffodils" after some searching and asking--unfortunately they were blooming sparsely due to the shade in that spot. I loved all the wild primroses we saw--Primula vulgaris--the fragrance was beautiful. I have one from seed blooming in my alpine house right now--same fragrance. And many tame daffodils, aubrieta and other primulas everywhere.
