Umm, IMHO Burr-Brown DACs have been well known for their excellent
audio DACs. Open a reasonable high quality CD player (Denon, for
example) and you'll find a couple of Burr-Brown DACs.

I also got a mailing from Burr-Brown: "Burr-Brown joins TI"... Yeah,

Yes, I was thinking about the PCM2702. Just browsed a bit on the TI web
pages, and the TAS1020A also looks interesting though it needs some
support chips. See:
