Just stuck them online. Don't know what's going on with the big white block in the X11 test... is gd writing to offscreen VRAM or something?
http://www.tbrowne.demon.co.uk/latencytest These were taken with the standard Mandrake 8.1 kernel... 2.4.8... no patches applied. Parameters were as default for the run_xxx_test scripts, but with 3 buffers. Note that I had to modify the ALSA open code to get it working with the Envy24... fails with a PCM write error #14 if try to use the device "hw:0,0"... needed to change it to "plughw:0,0"... why?!? Machine spec... 1.2GHz Celeron-II running at 1.5GHz ASUS TUSL2-M motheboard (i815EPB) 512MB RAM Seagate Barracuda IV (UDMA5) Savage4 32MB AGP, XFree86 4.1.0 Results were pretty awful to say the least - Linux is doing too much read ahead buffering, and too much write-latering... If there's an LL+buffer patch for 2.4.15 final, I'll give that a go... - Tom. _______________________________________________ Alsa-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-devel
