Hmm, i'm not sure how is the current status of emu10k1, but ac3 output
was once enabled..

The first three drivers support the non-audio data.  The ice1712 based
cards have many variance, and the digital i/o is dependent on chipset,
though.  But at least it's ok on M-Audio and TerraTec cards.
(How about Hoontech DSP24??)

The others, trident, ymfpci and cmipci drivers support non-audio
digital, too.

I don't know about fm801:  there is a switch "IEC958 Raw Data Playback
Switch".  Is it for enabling non-audio data transfer or not involved
at all?
