First, here's my system: Epox 8KHA+ motherboard (the audio support is by a VIA VT8233) Athlon 1700+ (not overclocked) 256 MB Crucial non-ECC memory SuSE Linux 6.3 (but upgraded to kernel 2.4.17)
This is a recently upgraded SuSE Linux box system. As there's apparently no support in the kernel for the VT8233 yet, I've been trying to get ALSA (0.5.12a) to build. First, I run configure in the ALSA driver directory, then do "make". When it tries to compile sound_oss.c, I see the following: sound_oss.c:27: #error "Enable the OSS soundcore multiplexer (CONFIG_SOUND) in the kernel." But I turned on sound support when I built my kernel: CONFIG_SOUND=y and CONFIG_SOUND_OSS=y in my .config file (though I have not selected any particular driver). Can anyone give me any insight as to why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it? I've tried using kernel 2.4.14 as well, but with the same results. Thanks in advance. -Dave Schreiber [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
