Yes, I have exactly the same problem, with the same error message. I managed to compile Timidity on RedHat 7.2 with the gtk interface and got it to work fine, but I can't compile it as an alsa sequencer client. -- "Although art can be created with a chainsaw, this is hardly a justification for giving every would-be artist a chainsaw" (Art and the Zen of web sites)
