Completely remove old modules in this directory by
typing
rm -rf /lib/modules/(your kernel version)/misc
> Compile the driver with these options.

type ./configure --help to see the

I cannot install my soundcard Fortemedia, using module fm801, as said on
Alsa-project.org . I follow every instruction of

and can't get further the step "modprobe". Debian returns that it can't
find any of the modules. Same error, either for Alsa-driver-0.5.12 and
Alsa-driver-0.9rc .
