All of that works. Unmuting the channels also helped a bunch. ;-) What doesn't work now is the CD audio playing through the soundcard. I've got both the digital and the analog cables connected between the CD dig/anlg outputs and the soundcard's dig/anlg inputs. The CD channels are unmuted and the sliders are up. Maybe only one of the analog or digital paths is supposed to be connected. I'll try a few experiments.
