I have a motherboard which is a 845PE (P4) based Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra with an on board ALC650.
I have compiled 0.9.0rc6 and tried using the snd-via82xx module with no
success. The kernel is 2.4.19.

I suspect that that chip is newish but it might be similar to one of the existing ALS drivers.Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or that my hardware config is not supported as yet?
Maybe one of the authors of the ALS 4000 will help you.
