Frans Ketelaars: > alias sound-slot-0 emu10k1 That should be alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 . Note that emu10k1 is the OSS/Free driver and snd-emu10k1 the ALSA driver. This took care of that, but still programs complained about lack of libraries. I found an rpm package (alsa-lib-0.9.0-fr0rc6.0.rh73.1.i36.rpm) which solved that too, but gdam _still_ can't access the subdevices, or any devices for that matter. What am I missing here? Anyway, gamix and co. now work, I have a screenfull of sliders, now I only need to figure out which of them do what. There are 32 sets for 32 subdevices, each set has 12 sliders lined up horizontally for volume, but I can't figure out which volumes/channels they control; there are also 12 sliders lined up vertically labelled routing, and they switch between (i suppose) where which channel is to be played. The thing is, the individual sliders have no labels, the same as positions for routing sliders - how do I figure out what gets channeled where? I tried combining, but with 24 variables, the math of guessing my way through it is frightening. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
