Check your /dev entries. ls -l /dev/snd - it should probably be a link to /proc/asound/dev. ls -l /proc/asound/dev and check the device permissions (you might need to give the options "device_uid=" and "device_gid=" to the "snd" module) > Anyway, gamix and co. now work, I have a screenfull of sliders, now I > only need to figure out which of them do what. Ah yes. The emu10k1 mixer is a little huge... Best ignore the "PCM routing" elements, but unmute most of the rest. Watch out for one called something like "DAC/ADC" loopback - if it's switched (muted/unmuted) the wrong way then you won't hear anything from the front speaker socket, I found. -- Adam Jones ([EMAIL PROTECTED])(http://www.yggdrasl.demon.co.uk/) .oO("wow buffy, you sure are fucking stupid to mispell your own name." ) PGP public key: http://www.yggdrasl.demon.co.uk/pubkey.asc ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
