Hi,
Uhm, what do you mean? I don't understand. Are you surprised I don't have those lines? If so, that should be cleared now :-)
I'm really a little surprised that you don't hear anything. Are you really really sure, your mixer channels are unmuted and not equal zero? Also, I'd check the other output in case you haven't already done so.
I noticed in your previous mail that you passed additional options to the snd-cs46xx module. Any idea what that does? As I said before I still have that problem that I have to unload and reload the modules once before I can use sound after boot. Maybe that little option does the trick.
Thanks,
oke it's clear now about the previous stuff with pre remove etc. Deleted those lines. DAC and ADC are unmuted and set on a valuue of 100, I put this down to 16. I can still hear the little plop at the beginning after reboot agian a good sign. When I unload the modules after boot ( I think on redhat are the lines I had put in earlier with reference to alsaclt script do just this) I get this in lsmod :
snd-seq-midi 5248 0 (autoclean) (unused)
snd-seq-oss 33632 0 (unused)
snd-seq-midi-event 5672 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss]
snd-seq 46928 2 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi-event]
snd-pcm-oss 44900 0
snd-mixer-oss 16408 0 [snd-pcm-oss]
snd-cs46xx 76212 0
snd-rawmidi 18592 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-cs46xx]
snd-seq-device 6268 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq snd-rawmidi]snd-ac97-codec 44320 0 [snd-cs46xx]
snd-pcm 82272 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-cs46xx]
snd-timer 19624 0 [snd-seq snd-pcm]
snd 43652 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-cs46xx snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device snd-ac97-codec snd-pcm snd-timer]
snd-page-alloc 8440 0 [snd-cs46xx snd-pcm]
gameport 3412 0 [snd-cs46xx]
soundcore 6500 8 [snd]
sr_mod 18168 0 (autoclean)
Only a change to the snd-seq.
Also put in those additional lines you have at the bottom. I've seen this we other people to. The option is coming from the sound matrix page. I removed it as it gave errors, but they seem to have a function when playing a game or somthing, see the alsa howto wiki.
Well still no sound but we'll keep working on it.
