ALSA offers exactly those mixer controls that are implemented in the hardware. The behaviour of those controls depends only on the sound card. I guess you have an AC'97 codec. Please post what ALSA version, codec, controller, and PCI subvendor/device IDs you have (see the output of "lspci" and "lspci -nv", and the contents of /proc/asound/version and /proc/asound/card0/ac97#0).
