Well, but how can i see, if a device is used and how?

I try to send any ac3 to my amp, but nothing happens.

if a ac3dec -P test.ac3 or ac3dec -C test.ac3 anything, i hear nothing
ac3dec -R test.ac3 i get a downmix the the stream but via the digital
output..

somewhere i found, that this device /dev/snd/pmcC0D3p is used for
digital output, but i can`t use it.

I hav no idea, what i can do to get this thing running..
