I'm having the same problem on an Intel D815EEA2 mobo running Libranet
2.8.  ALSA 1.01 worked fine until I updated to kernel 2.4.23 then
AC-DC's Highway to Hell sounded like it was being performed by Alvin and
the Chipmunks (after puberty).
