The card is enabled in the BIOS, but does not appear in the lspci output. I don't really know the terminology, but taking another look at the manual that is exactly what it shows (a codec not the actual card). Here is a link to the guide:
<http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/kt133/a7v/a7v-104.pdf> Information is shown on page 8 and 12. I was also surprised to find that Asus supplies drivers that support RedHat 6.2. I have not tried these yet, but plan to try them (although I'd prefer to use the alsa drivers). Is this sound system not supported? -------- Original Message -------- From: Bill Unruh <un...@physics.ubc.ca> Apparently from: alsa-user-boun...@lists.sourceforge.net To: sto...@safe-mail.net Cc: alsa-user@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Alsa-user] Unable to configure ASUS A7V sound card with Alsa Date: Sat, 14 Feb 2009 22:46:18 -0800 (PST) > On Sat, 14 Feb 2009, sto...@safe-mail.net wrote: > > > I have an ASUS A7V motherboard that contains an integrated video, sound, > > and ethernet card.
